Dear friends and first time readers,
Up until now, I've published books of "epic haikus" where each haiku is a stand alone poem that can serve as its own meditation, but when a person reads the collection in order, it tells a story or sends a message, like an epic poem. When I drafted the poems in this book, I wrote as if I didn't expect anyone to read what I had written. Instead of fighting depression, I leaned into it and let the creative process take me wherever I needed to go. For my friends who are expecting a book of my "Epic Haiku's," I hope you won't be disappointed by a book of prose. I did include a section of the book with 3 sets of shorter haiku collections. I hope that those of you who have been with me from the start, and those of you who are new to my work will enjoy them. This is my fifth book of poetry. In this book I explore feminine rage, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Post Traumatic Growth, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and Zebras, among other things. I hope that it can give voice to your experiences, and that you can find some solace in its pages.Love always,
Sasha Bank
