I Needed This

Ironically fitting that I finished this book yesterday... It's going to be hard for me to summarize this reading. There were plenty of statistics in here, but the reason I chose to read it was because I've never been taught how to be angry. I'll say it again, I've never been taught how to be angry. I was taught how to cook, how to garden, how to care for my animals, make my bed, do the dishes, build a fence, build a shelf, change a light bulb, replace wiring, paint a house, etc, etc. I was taught how to be loving, understanding, kind, attentive, and how to anticipate the needs of those around me so I could fulfill their wishes before they even had to ask. I was taught how to maintain a house and how to build one. After my first surgery, things slowed down but didn't stop. It wasn't until my mid twenties, another surgery later, that my broke down and I often only have my mind and my words. But I don't know how to be angry. And this book helped me start on the path to learning that. There is a healthy anger, a right anger, a just anger. But I don't know how to have it. And this book started to show me how by the stories, the statistics, the personal insight, and how thought provoking it brings the subject of women's subjugation to light. 10/10 recommend, for all genders
