The term "racism" conjures up many images for people of color across the globe and none of them are pleasant. For the Africans it's a reminder of the west's colonization of the continent from the fifteenth century through the twentieth. In the over six hundred years of western ruin of the continent, natural resources were exploited, lands stolen, people kidnaped and forced into free labor, internal conflicts and wars started, leaders assassinated and the brainwashing of generations of Africans to embrace a white patriarchal system was implemented. On top of this much of Africa's ancient history and hidden knowledge were either stolen or destroyed by the benefactors of racism.
