Racism is a deeply rooted, structural challenge in the Austrian education system that often goes unnoticed in everyday school life. Teachers are often inadequately prepared for a practice that is critical of racism. In addition, they are confronted with a system that reproduces racist structures rather than actively dismantling them. This study addresses the central research question: How can teachers be sensitized to the topic of racism and what measures can be taken to dismantle racist structures in schools?
