In this book "RACHEL'S CHILDREN," I believe that the readers will gain a more real feel for the suffering and atrocities that real humans endure daily living in the war-zones of American ghetto living. Sadly, but, a land where weapons and might control the streets and neighborhoods. A very strange and different world in which any resident regardless of age can at anytime become the victim of deadly gunfire. Something is seriously gone wrong when we as a civilized society allow ourselves to be conditioned to accept the shooting deaths of these victims on a weekly basis as business as usual. Every Monday, weekend statistics are released for the unacceptable large numbers of residents that were shot or killed by gun violence over the previous weekend. No, we are not talking about some third world nation, but we are talking about the Westside and the Southside of Chicago, USA. This on-going problem continues to plague these communities year after year without remedy. Perhaps, the state and/or federal government should join in and seriously address this senseless evil that plagues these American communities.
