Unbeknownst to nurse practitioner Alexandra Lawson, during an airplane flight, a now-dead felon had secretly hid a thumb drive with incriminating evidence in her computer case. Two of the felon's fellow cartel members determine that nothing will prevent them from obtaining this drive. While they plot to achieve their objective, Alex and the owner of Rabbit Island Air, Tony Hamilton, sever their romantic relationship, and Alex becomes involved with Pete Harris, an old high school beau, now a TV star. When the two cartel members locate Alex and demand she return it, she has no idea what it is. They kidnap her, planning to take her off the island and subject her to what one of them maliciously calls "fun" until she gives it up. Their plan is interrupted with a dramatic helicopter rescue, but the culprits manage to escape, forcing Alex into hiding.
