Majority is in the misconception, their supplications will not be accepted due their sins, but it's not true at all, and just a whisper of shaitan in heart, convincing the person with cunning words that, "you are sinner your Duas will be not be accept, so let's go find a person who is pious, who's Duas are not rejected". This is how shaitan leads a person towards shirk. Allah gives glad tidings to those who have even crossed the limits of sins. Quran 39:53 "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah Forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
