Jane's grandmother is dying.
To make things worse, the hospital's chaplain tells her that the only way Jane will see her in the afterlife is if she starts believing in God ASAP... which is something she just can't do.
Devastated, Jane runs away, only to meet someone who could change everything: Jesus Christ.
Or, well, someone who thinks he's Jesus Christ, anyway.
This Jesus, though, isn't what she imagined. Sure, he's got the long hair and the beard stubble, but he isn't the slightest bit preachy. In fact, he just seems kind of confused.
Oh yeah, and he's a teenage boy. A pretty cute one.
With no shoes and no memory, it's pretty clear this boy needs help. To keep him safe, Jane brings him home with her, only to discover that the answers they seek can't be found in the places she knows.
So, the pair sets out on a journey to discover the boy's identity. The further she gets from home, though, the more questions she has, and the harder she falls for this mysterious "Jesus." Could he really be who he says he is? And does she want him to be?
Despite the fact that her parents are angry and her grandmother is running out of time, Jane can't stop until she learns the truth. Will she find the key to getting into Heaven? Or is she only putting her heart through Hell?
