Black and white quilts have become a hot new trend for quilters of all ages. A seemingly simple pattern can be updated merely by adding a little black and white fabric into the design. This book... This description may be from another edition of this product.
You love that cover quilt, don't you! It really catches your eye in it's simplicity and striking design. Well, unless you're a fairly experienced quilter, this book will totally frustrate you because of all the mistakes. I purchased this book for the cover pattern. I don't know who edited the book, but the illustrations for figures 1, 3, 4, and 5 are all reversed. If you cut your fabric according to her illustrations you will be very confused when it doesn't work. The designer also did not piece the outer borders, so you end up buying and wasting a ton of the white fabric and you have more risk of uneven borders trying to cut 64" long straight pieces. Not all of us get free fabric, nor do we have long cutting tables. The design is beautiful, but the designer needs help with her pattern construction and execution. The cover was the only design I've attempted so far, but I've heard from other quilters that there are mistakes in other quilts in the book, too. Starry Lane A block cutting instructions are also wrong.
