Book Overview

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.

When he agrees to do a favor for his old friend Liz Carey in Corporate Fraud, Para-investigator Val Toreth is hoping for a simple case. After all, kidnapping and dismemberment are all in a day's work for the Investigation and Interrogation Division. But in the European Administration, simplicity is often a dangerous illusion, and anyone who goes looking for trouble in the corporate world is certain to find more than they bargained for. Fraud, sabotage, espionage, blackmail, decades-long vendettas, and murder--the more powerful the corporations, the darker their secrets. Corporate insiders and innocent bystanders alike are all too easily caught up in the conflicts, but when suspects can hide behind money and power, what chance is there of any justice?

And on top of everything else, Toreth also has to deal with Keir Warrick. But that's easy. That's just sex.

The sequel to Mind Fuck, this second book in the Administration series contains the novella Quid Pro Quo, as well as five short stories set in the near future dystopia of New London and centered around professional investigator and interrogator Val Toreth, and technical genius turned corporate Keir Warrick.

Excellent Read

This is the third time I have tried to write a review for this excellent book but have run into word usage problems. This is the second book of a trilogy; the first book (whose name I cannot mention) was excellent, but I actually liked this second one better. Quid Pro Quo is listed as a novella and several short stories. However, don't let that put you off. The same characters appear in continuing interesting activities that further the story. It reads like a novel to me. It probably would help if you understand and appreciate BDSM because it gets quite explicit, but it is not a requirement to appreciate this book. The Sci-Fi is very well defined and the characters (both male and female) are very well developed. I highly recommend this book and all three books of the trilogy, but suggest that you read the first book (that shall not be named) of the trilogy before reading this one. P.S.: Oops! there is fourth book, so it is no longer a trilogy

Still best M/M series ever.

The second book focuses more on the relationship between Toreth and Warrick. When it comes to the romantic aspect of The Administration I somehow prefer the second book since you can see how their relationship progressing. All the short stories in the book are evolving around Toreth and Warrick, and how they're falling for each other. The ending left me with a taste for more.
