Attractive book

The title for this book "Quick and Easy" Vegan Comfort Food is not one I'd use. The average recipe has 12 or more ingredients and that is just one part of the menu. Yes, I may be the world's slowest cook, but... This is nicely written and certainly enlightened me about milk substitutes. I'll not be able to come to terms with using dairy products without thinking about the suffering involved in the production. Everyone should realize the real costs of what is consumed for "food" in our world. I will definitely try some of the recipes in this book after I find the ingredients which may be tough in my small town.

I could just eat up this book!

I love this book. I have consistently cooked from it for a couple months now and haven't come across a bad recipe yet. I was skeptical about some of them and they passed the test. My family has enjoyed everything, too. That's a hard sell when you've got ages 49-4 all around the same table. The mac & cheeze is terrific. I loved the wraps, too. The mushroom gravy & alfredo sauce recipies are worth the price of the book alone! If you're on the road to being vegan but don't want to be hungry or deprived, this is a winner. It's also good for feeding non-vegans because they simply will enjoy the food w/o noticing it's animal-free. I appreciate that the recipes are reasonable in the prep time, especially when cooking day after day for a family. This is not a fat-free vegan book, beware.

A great one!

I've been using this cookbook for the last few weeks and continue to be delighted by the high-quality meals, the easily accessible ingredients, and the simplicity of the instructions. The "Red Beans with Quinoa" and the "Fried Chik'n Seitan" rock my world. Buy this book and you won't be disappointed!

My favorite!

As my son and I are newbie vegans, I have searched high and low for GOOD FOOD recipes. This has been the easiest to use with the most delicious recipes for true comfort food. Everytime I make something from the book, we both laugh and say, boy, it really is sweet to be vegan. I use the book almost daily - always with great results :) I have yet to have a flop. Thanks to the author for doing such a terrific job. Whatever she writes, I will look forward to purchasing

A new favorite

This is one of the top five cookbooks I plan on rescuing in case of house fire. Just kidding, but I would immediately go out and get it again! Buy this book -- it's worth it just for the mac and cheeze, orange chick'n, and buffalo bites recipes. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Did I mention the mac and cheeze? It's not a nutritional yeast sauce! It's incredible! This book has a good range of simple idea-type recipes -- as in, recipes you can really put together quickly and throw in your own substitutions -- plus more still-easy-but-complex-in-flavor recipes for the scratch cook. Oh and I can't say enough about the barbecue sauce, too. I'm picky picky picky about BBQ sauce and the one in this book plus the one in Veganomicon are to live for. This is my first attempt to start reviewing some of the zillions of cookbooks I own. Happy cooking!
