It's never been easier, or more fun, to make stunning, one-of-a-kind greeting cards that far outdo the expensive store-bought ones. Get started with easy-to-find tools and materials, like fabric and... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Personally, I would hardly call sewing on your cards a basic technique, yet this book can teach you how. While I will admit that the papers used to create the cards shown would not have been my choice, the ideas are endless and quite creative. The best part of this particular book is that you can adapt most of the designs to fit your own style, try new techniques, embellish on more basic designs and create cards that truly fit you or the recipient. Another perk of the book, is that most of the tools and materials shown in the easy to follow directions, are things that are easy to get or that you probably already own. There are 35 different techniques shown and in between each section is a gallery of ideas shown with that technique. Another thought, quilling, embossing, applique, and goldleafing are all taught in this book with a variety of ideas to accompany. These don't strike me as basic techniques and I think this book would be truly helpful to those that are still semi-new to card making. I actually would recommend this to others for the simple to follow instructions, the techniques shown and the resizable templates in the back of the book.
