For the first time in almost a decade, people are eating more meals prepared at home. We are looking for recipes we can actually find the time to prepare -- meals the family will enjoy. This book... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've made a few recipes so far, and they have been DELICIOUS. I have to say that the recipes in here are not quite as quick and easy as some other books, but none of them are especially long and difficult, either. I made a delicious chicken dish from start to finish in about 30 minutes, but most recipes will go for 45 minutes or 1 hour. Also, some of the recipes do not seem especially "comfort food"-ish -- e.g., Thai-style chicken and nectarine salad -- but that doesn't mean they're not good! And many of the recipes are comfort food -- corn cakes, pot roast, creamy turkey pie, etc. At any rate, I think this cookbook offers a number of do-able, delicious-sounding dishes--but if you're looking for real old-fashioned American cooking, and dishes that all take 30 minutes or less, this isn't the book.
