Quest for Methuselah's Memoirs is a fictional account of people living before the Great Flood of Genesis. In the story, Lemek is a successful antediluvian businessman and learns that Methuselah has died. He remembers his encounters with the ancient man on several previous business trips. He recalls seeing Methuselah's memoirs being recorded by a scribe and recognizes the values of the memoirs. He decides to obtain the scrolls at any cost.
