Who, What, When. Why?

Baker, Michelle and Stephen Tropiano. "The Greatest Gay and Lesbian Trivia Book Ever", Sanctuary Press, 2005. Who, What, When, Why? Amos Lassen We know we have made it to the mainstream when we have our own book of trivia. Here is everything that you may want to know (or not want to know) about GLBT life. This is a compilation of trivia, fun and useless information from literature, the media, history, politics and popular culture. It is a collection of facts and bon mots that can be dropped at cocktail parties and bars and can be just a fun read. For example, how many of us know which book is the most successful gay novel of all time or who was the first lesbian soap opera character? The answers are all right here. The facts are fascinating, the gossip is hot and the book is both very funny and poignant at the same time. It has a little something for everyone and is cleverly printed on pink paper. The book opens with a very smart and funny introduction by Graham Norton and continues on almost bombarding us with many fun facts.

Surprisingly funny

This book had me laughing outloud on the plane ride from Chicago to Boston. A great read!

Rich and tasty like a good slice of cake with pink icing

This book is filled with pots of trivia about the world, ways lives of the Gay and Lesbian and Bisexual culture. It quite simply is a unique collection of fascinating facts all printed on bright pink paper which tells you about the first openly gay politician to be elected to office, books written by gay authors, as well as books about the LGBT scene and a look at the first lesbian soap opera character, along with many other interesting facts, figures and hot gossip that is often hilariliously funny and tragically poignant in the same breath. I got this book on one of my thrift shop hunts and I bought it just on spec, and I was totally fascinated and really enjoyed the whole book from cover to cover. Not overly explicit by my standards but it could offend those who hold deeply religious views but then it very much a book for those who know, love and are part of the LGBT scene. Am I part of that scene? Well that would telling wouldn't it?
