Lyric had the perfect name suited for her life. She was one of the most well-known rappers in her City, and things couldn't have been going better for her. She had a cute boyfriend named Junie, who also doubled as her producer. She had money, and her fame was rising by the second until it all came crashing to a halt. One late night, after a part, on their way home, her boyfriend Junie was the victim of a hit put out by Big Tuck, the drug kingpin of the City. Lyric was shot in the process and taken to the hospital where she suffered life-threatening injuries. Because of the tragic death of Junie, she decides to quit rapping and leave the City with Quandra, a friend from High School. She leaves with Quandra, and they move to Chicago where they both end up stripping to make money. Quandra quickly becomes jealous of Lyric because of the money and attention she is getting and she, along with the club owner, set her up for an unthinkable crime against her which forces her to move back to her home city. This time, she comes back with a new focus on rapping and an insatiable thirst for revenge against Big Tuck and Quandra are starting to simmer. When she comes home, she meets another producer named Nas, and the connection he has with Junie is uncanny. They soon become an item, but he reveals that he is there for much more than making music. Together, they both make the decision to take over the City's drug and rap game until they are both on top, and they stop at nothing until they are the King and Queen of the City.
