A seventy-year reign that started in the early nineteen-fifties, during Winston Churchill's second premiership, ended on Thursday (8th September 2022) in Scotland. Her son, now known as Charles III, will take her place. The passing of the Queen has sparked discussions on the worth of constitutional monarchy as well as a period of prolonged mourning in the UK and other parts of the world.
