DEEP MESA TWO: BOOK EXCERPT: Quantum physicist, Dr. Lucine Nazarian sat in the flying saucer at Section-4 by Area 51. Her sapphire blue eyes reflected in the holographic images encircling her. She had trained the alien tech to sync with her eye movement to quickly scan data. Her brain could not connect with all the ship's systems, but she was given access to a vast amount of physics knowledge that could help understand how the vessel operated. She was working late again, and her eyelids grew heavy. She leaned back into the reclining captain's chair and fell asleep into a recurring dream she'd been having since she'd joined the S-4 team many months ago. In the dream she was gazing into the sea glass blue eyes of a man with cocoa skin. Each night she became increasingly desirous of him, until the dream encounters erupted into passionate sexual episodes that left her breathless. Before that happened this time, she felt compelled to wake herself up. When she opened her eyes, she was still staring into the same penetrating eyes. Am I still dreaming? she thought. Wake up! She blinked a few times, but his unshaven face was still there along with the smell of steel and sweat. It was so real. He was so real. But he wasn't naked or in just his form fitting skivvies like he'd been in all her dreams. She shook her head briskly to wake herself. She rubbed her eyes and straightened her back in the saucer chair. He remained looming over her wearing a blue jump suit. This was a new dynamic. I must be in a deep REM sleep, because it was him, the man in her dream, but he seemed more solid. He didn't have a security badge so he couldn't really be there. She knew everyone permitted to be in the heavily secure area. She rubbed her eyes again and then opened them wide. He was gone. She surveyed the entire vessel, but he was nowhere to be seen. She pinched her arm. Was this a hallucination? What just happened?
