INTRODUCTION
Greying of the population is one of the major achievements and most significant
characteristics of the twenty-first century, which reflects the success of the process of
human development. Major improvements in nutrition, sanitation, medicine, health
care, education, knowledge, and economic well-being, in general, have made it
possible for people to live longer. Increasing life expectancy at birth and reduced
lifetime fertility due to improvement in health and medical facilities are the key
driving factors driving "demographic transition". Aging provides new opportunities
as well as challenges. On one end, it is associated with the active participation of older
generations in both economy and society at large, on the other end, it poses various
challenges.
