Qua Modernity

Modernity was, is, and will be remembered as a mess. Luckily we are at the tail-end. In this epic poem, the watcher is the protagonist. Their journey becomes one of understanding their place in this ecological web but also realizing where the individual stands in this wave called humanity. It was Nietzsche who said that if speaking truth to the masses doesn't work, it is the artist's duty to create their own illusions. Well, here are mine.

Using both common and lesser-known myths as well as dips into history and theology, Qua Modernity attempts to reveal those socio-psychological currents which have both pushed and pulled us to this point---this breaking where we are caught, at last, between an end and a beginning. The piece is an appreciation of futility and fortune; a reverence for the past as much as it is its abhorrence. We loathe the future as much as we rejoice its coming. We are a bridge, albeit in the capacity of modernity.
