Put The Knife On Velvet
He bought her brother's debt. Now he owns seven nights of her life.
Ione Becker is a chef with a ruined restaurant, a missing brother, and a knife roll full of answers. Every trail leads to Rafael Morrow-the ruthless, obsessively controlled owner of Velvet, a luxury restaurant hidden inside a converted bank.
Rafael offers her a bargain: cook seven private dinners for some of the most dangerous people in Saint Mercy, and her brother's $340,000 debt disappears. The contract is clean. The building is not. Every door is monitored, every movement recorded, and every detail of Ione's life has been anticipated by the man waiting behind a velvet-covered table.
Rafael has watched her for six months. He calls it strategy. He calls the locked doors protection. But when poisoned courses, hidden recordings, and a powerful casino operator place Ione at the center of a deadly game, control turns into obsession-and obsession becomes a hunger neither of them can afford.
Ione came to Velvet to find her brother. Rafael brought her there to expose the man who took him. Neither expected the knife between them to become a test of trust.
But Ione will not be owned. Not by debt. Not by fear. And not by the man who built the cage.
Seven nights. Seven dinners. One missing brother. And a dangerous man who may be her captor, her protector... or the only person ruthless enough to help her survive.
PUT THE KNIFE ON VELVET is a dark romantic suspense novel featuring an obsessive morally gray hero, a razor-sharp chef heroine, forced proximity, surveillance, contractual coercion, slow-burn tension, toxic attraction, and a hard-won romantic ending.
