Rummaging through the attic junk Stella Carstain comes across the letters her grandfather wrote to her grandmother during the First World War. These letters, plus newspaper cuttings, proved a miscarriage of justice had occurred when her grandfather, Detective Inspector Carstein, had investigated a train crash in 1917. Determined to have the wrongly convicted railwaymen exonerated of causing the train crash, Stella travels to England to follow her grandfather's investigation to find the necessary evidence to correct the injustice to the two railwaymen. However, learning of her investigation, people in government do not want her to prove the duplicity of the Prime Minister that took place in 1917 and are determined to prevent her from obtaining the evidence. Will she succeed in finding the evidence to prove the railwaymen innocent when people in positions of power make every effort to thwart her?
