Book Overview

Author Denis Leveille, Ph.D. has lived an amazing, often challenging, life: He came to the United States at age ten speaking only French. Later, as a therapist, he became a pioneer in researching and counseling those with some of the most challenging psychological conditions such as incest and other sexual crimes. He has lost friends and students to suicide and murder.

Yet through it all, Leveille has held love as our most important resource and gift. If we maintain the positives of being human, including our generosity and our validation of others, we can survive life's difficulties.

He wrote his memoir, Pursuing Wisdom, originally for his family, but he came to see it as having benefit for others as well. Primarily, he hopes that readers will be inspired to write their own story-the good, the bad, and the ugly. You don't have to publish, as Leveille did-just be brutally honest with yourself and see what good comes of that into your life.

You know, just a simple "hello how are you" can be the first, meaningful step in connecting with others.
