Early in my teaching and coaching career, I realized that I was destined to work at the high school level. Being newly married and starting a family, we moved from Savannah, GA., my home town, to the island of Martha's Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts. For twenty-eight years I was fortunate to be the head football coach at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. During this time I was exposed to a full gamut of emotions and experiences from thrilling come-from-behind victories, challenges to my coaching philosophy, and suffering the loss of those close to the program. I coached many outstanding young men and I made many lifelong friendships. This autobiography contains many of the experiences I had during those years. If you are a sports fan, a football fan, a parent of an athlete, or someone interested in coaching, I think you will find the stories in this book compelling and entertaining.
