Jack had no idea what he was getting into when he fell in love with the beautiful Rebecca. All he knew is that she was a sexy, smart, beautiful girl. She also wasn't interested in his good looks and muscles like other girls. After she told him she had a rare blood condition that could someday kill her, he still wanted to be with her. That's because she wasn't like other girls he dated. She was more interest in who he was and what he was about on the inside than his body. She was into men that wasn't trying to get her into their and would sit down and have a conversation with her about different topics. It didn't matter if you believed the same way or not as long as you didn't force your beliefs on her. For that reason Jack fell madly in love with her.

Jack didn't know is that Rebecca was born into a race called Purebloods. Purebloods are a race that had been around for thousands of years. They began as humans, but some reach their twenties go through a conversion and become vampires. If they don't die or go through the conversion by thirty they will live a normal human life. Rebecca's parents had kept that part from her. She was told there was a very good chance that she would fall in a deep sleep and everyone like Jack would think she was dead. Then she would go through the conversion and wake up as a Pureblood vampire.

Everything changed after she went through conversion. Jack thought the love of his life was dead and wasn't worth living without Rebecca. Life for Jack and his roommate Tommy changed forever when they found out Rebecca was now a vampire. Their lives were now in danger because the Pureblood council found out that two humans knew about the Pureblood vampire race.
