For fifty years I was protected by two pairs of loving arms. I've cried on your shoulders until the storm passed over and all the pain was gone. But, today when I woke up (Dec 12, 2013), I realized I need to stand on my own letting go of the dreams that kept me and helped me to stand strong, but now it's time for me to release the bondage and stand tall relying on Faith to carry me through. The two of you have protected me and I know as long as I allowed you to, you'll continue. I can no longer take up that space, I need to feel free inside. God is trying to use me; I keep fighting him all the way. I've blocked myself from others too fearful of the pain. I know you both will understand that my next walk in life I have to go solo. With God by my side I know I'll be okay. If I ever need you, I know you're not far away. I will always feel your presence and see your smiling faces. I've been withdrawn most of my life blurred memories relying on the dreams to keep me. Now, here I am sitting in my kitchen and looking across the way. I see a clearer path and footstep in my path. I can no longer hold on to the sweet memories of the dreams, but I will always remember them. The inspiration, the love, the peaceful moments, the safety and strength that they provided and now providing me with the courage to let go and find my way out of the foggy areas in my life to continue on my journey but, it hurts me to let you know it will be without the two of you as my guiding light.
