Puggy's earliest memory is waking up in a field in Texas, just before his human family discovers him and he becomes their beloved pet. He's always felt...different, and not just because he is able to speak, something that he intuitively knows he needs to keep to himself. Things are bleak on Earth; it has been overdeveloped with huge buildings, blocking sunlight and becoming nearly uninhabitable with drastically declining resources. The New International Space Agency, led by Dr. Jimmy Mars, is tasked with finding a solar system with planets that can be colonized and searching for a volunteer as a probe to take that risky mission in space. A prospective habitable planet is found a few light years away and, after many months of astronaut training, Puggy-now dubbed with his title Pugmmander-is launched into space. But things quickly take a turn and Pugmmander is forced to crash-land on Ceres, a dwarf planet near Mars. He is shocked to encounter a highly competent civilization, one nearly identical to an ancient civilization on Earth and led by a surprising Captain who is familiar to Pugmmander. Pugmmander is blindsided to learn about the Ceresians' crucial involvement in the evolution of Earth over millennia...and even more so by his own truth and his role in its future. Can Pugmmander singlehandedly... or singlepawedly... save the universe before it's too late?
