Puffy Tails and Worm-Gut Toothpaste: A chapter book about Samara the squirrel, a rotten Robin bully, and Donnie the Dog Day that changed everything.

By K.T. Downing

Meet Samara the squirrel. She's 10 years old and her best friend is a cat named Casey.

Rachel the Robin is a rotten bully. She constantly sticks her worm-gut toothpaste-smelling beak in Samara's face. Samara always backs down.

Sunny is Samara's brother. He's 5 minutes older, but he might as well be 5,000. He ignores his sister, and he's not sunny at all. In fact, his name should be Thundercloud.

One day, Samara follows Sunny too far from their tree. It's dark. Thunder rolls. Rain falls. Samara finds herself in a very bad situation. Life-changing (or -ending) kind of bad. Or so she thought.

Something changes. Everything changes. Samara gets an unlikely ally who vows to help her stand up to Rachel and stop her bullying for good. But it's not going to be easy. And if Samara's mom found out what she was about to do, she would be grounded to the tree for life.

The stakes are high. The risks are bad. But the reward... can Samara find it in herself to get Rachel to stop bullying her?
