Puckered Be Thy Brow: A poem for the weak of mind

This is a brutal and utterly shameless observation of what an alarming number of people have to go through in contemporary Britain and elsewhere. At once a piece of fiction, but based on truthful observations. Mental illness. Nothing broad or simple here, each case as different as the next. What is similar though is the general public's treatment of them. This is a tale of one such case, placed amongst a typical working class estate in Britain. Providing the perfect backdrop that can also be recognised the world over. It is also an examination of what lurks deepest in our souls. Of how monsters are created. Monsters that exist in plain sight under the guise of being "normal". Human dichotomies bringing about an underbelly of unfairness and brutality upon those that do not "Toe the line". This being the mere start of this tale, as the machinations of a largely forgotten and ignored realm, deeper, immeasurably bigger and beyond current human's understanding twists and balks at the unending level of cruelties and arrogances prevalent in a selfish and cavalier modern society.
