The research seeks to interpret the factors that influence school dropout among high school students in urban areas of Medellin, Colombia, in order to design a pedagogical proposal that promotes student retention.A mixed study with an interpretative and comparative approach is carried out, including 10th and 11th grade students, parents, teachers and directors of four selected institutions.Data collection will be done through semi-structured interviews, surveys and documentary review. The policies of the Ministry of National Education (MEN) on school dropout will also be analyzed to evaluate their effectiveness.The methodology combines a mixed approach and action-research, allowing an active intervention in the educational environment.
