Through this material we propose that the refrain (folk wisdom) works as an efficient and functional auxiliary in the analysis of resistances and defences, unconscious processes, which are observed in the analytical discourse of patients in treatment, in the difficult and complex clinical task of Psychoanalysis and individual and group psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This resource is studied from the perspective of different theoretical models of psychology, linguistics, folklore and the different psychoanalytic theories, integrating these perspectives and models through their clinical application, which we present through several vignettes. Corroborating their usefulness and efficiency.
