There are many invisible people in the world . . . people who live hidden in the shadows and on the fringes of society. They are "misfits" with small voices. In this story, these are "the forgotten." Tim is homeless and carries a heavy burden he can't put down; Marilyn, an elderly childless widow, is struggling with dementia and living in fear; Bob's a divorced and depressed ex-policeman who is contemplating suicide; Rosita's a very pregnant undocumented immigrant who speaks no English; and Phillip is a lonely young orphan who stutters terribly. As complete strangers, their only common denominator is being in New Orleans, Louisiana on a certain tragically eventful day. Until . . . . Our five "forgotten" misfits, however, found themselves stranded together in an evacuated house surrounded by floodwaters and marsh mud with no way out.
