Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Skillful Living

Many individuals have vied for the honor of being called the smartest person who ever lived. Of course, there are different kinds of smart people. We know individuals who have "book smarts," as we say in the South. We know others may not have "book smarts" but have an abundance of common sense. Sometimes people argue over which of the two is better: book smarts or common sense. The Bible knows the answer to that question and provides a lot of space to a topic called Wisdom. As we read the one of those Wisdom Books, the Book of Proverbs, we see what God values in the life of an individual. God desires that you not only know certain things but how to put that knowledge into practice. God wants his children to know where they are going and the best way to get there. In this study of the book of Proverbs, we will attempt to understand what it means to be wise, to live wisely, and to make wise decisions.
