"I'd like to think of Prosaic as my book that was written in the calm before the storm.
In 2018 and 2019 I was feeling both bored of and over everything, as well as motivated to dig into why I was so bored, unfulfilled, apathetic. Something was off. I had done years of work to recover from debilitating depression, anxiety, and bipolar one. I felt better when I was alone. However when I was out in the world (or deep into my phone), something felt off. From road rage to people talking during concerts to fluffed up online marketing ad schemes to a general sense of greed with a side of lack in self and overall awareness. Looking back, I assume it was the calm I had created in order to defend myself from the wrongs that started to boil off before the 2020 swarm.
Like all of my other poetry books I dissect the parts of my unconscious and subconscious that arise, and then find a way to return to love. They say to never pick a favorite child, but I will say that Prosaic along with A Little More Time & Harmony are mine."
Sincerely,
Joe
