The Basic Secondary Education is immersed in a process of transformation that has among its objectives to increase the learning of students in all subjects, however there are still deficiencies in the development of reading comprehension in the subject Spanish-Literature. In order to fulfill the objective of the investigation and to solve the scientific problem, a proposal of exercises for the process of reading comprehension of the testimony genre is offered as an investigative result. In the investigation, methods and techniques of the theoretical, analytical-synthetic, historical-logical, inductive-deductive and systemic-structural-functional levels were used. From the empirical level, observation and experiment. Different techniques were also used: surveys, interviews, document analysis. Percentage analysis based on graphs and tables was applied as statistical and mathematical processing methods. The results of the application of the proposal demonstrate the effectiveness of the activities developed, taking into account the indicators established for this purpose.
