The Prophecy of Daniel chapter eleven is on target. The Cold War ended in 1989, as the Berlin wall fell; America then became the undisputed King of the North. Iraq, meanwhile, was assisted in gaining a military advantage over Iran and became the King of the South, in the same year. The stage was set for King of the North/King of the South confrontation (in 1990)."the King of the South pushed at him: and the King of the North came against him like a whirlwind, .."(Dan.11:40). Desert Storm was the name given to this first military offensive of Gulf War I. "The King of the North shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape" (Dan.11:42)The subsequent reduction in population of the Middle East is part of a scheme for verse 45 to be realized. This forms the genesis of the battle of Armageddon. In this final verse, Daniel identifies the Mount of Olives as the command center of this Battle. He concludes with the demise of the King of the North
