The story continues with Morris recovering in the hospital while an investigation is ongoing to determine Clari's part in the death of a Grigori.

Since Clari neglected to tell the World Paranormal Organization about her other abilities, the WPO suspended Clari's certification until she retested with them. When the testing concluded, Clari began training to control her other abilities. One of the training sessions was for her to learn how to control her dragon aspect; but this led to Clari inciting a revolution in the Dragon Realm.

With Detective Morris released from the hospital, Clari digs deeper into why the Grigori want her dead. Clari is informed about the Avatar Prophecy, and her friends think the prophecy is talking about her.

Ghosts from the 1940's ask Clari for help in crossing over; they are trapped. She and Morris begin looking into each individual ghost's story to see what the commonality is and how to help them.

After yet another attempt on her life, Clari discovers that not only are the Grigori connections close to home, but also that the Grigori are more widespread than anyone thought.

Can she put all the pieces together and expose the Grigori before another attempt on her life; an attempt that may succeed this time?
