I'll admit it (though I am ashamed).... I loved this book

Rachel Anderson is a former agent who now works as a PI. She is hired by a prominent senator to investigate the death of his daughter, and the possible existence of a grandchild. As she prepares to go undercover at the religious college the deceased girl attended, she is approached by the CIA who are interested in the college for other reasons. Rachel enrolls as a student at Shepard's Cross Ministry, and her CIA contact poses as a computer skills professor. Much to Rachel's dismay (and later delight), her CIA partner also happens to be a former very hot flame. I don't want to give too much away, so suffice it to say that Rachel and her CIA hottie uncover an "8 mm" type conspiracy without Nicholas Cage. Despite the over the top premise, I could not help but enjoy this book. As I read it I kept thinking "this is silly!" but the pacing was right on and I kept turning the pages to find out what outrageous thing would happen next. This book reminds me of Iris Johansen but with more sex - a thoroughly enjoyable escapist read.

A THRILL OF A READ!

Project Eve is so much better than Pure Dynamite that I am surprised it's by the same author! I did not even finish the previous book because of the annyoing heroine but Project Eve had me glued from start to finish. It has all the elements I look for in a romantic suspense - to die for hero, kick-ass heroine, breath-taking sexual tension AND Ms Bach delivers some scorching sex scenes, too. Whilst there is no great mystery about the villains, the suspense is there up to the final page which left me going AAAARGH! Where's Nick, Rachel's brother? Really, I never expected Project Eve to be this good after Pure Dynamite's slow and disappointing story despite a promising beginning. If you enjoy romantic suspense, don't miss this one!

Alpha Males You Can't Help But Love!!!

Ms. Bach creates some of romances "hottest, and sexiest" alpha males there are. She has done it again with her latest effort, and fans of romantic suspense will come away fully satisfied with this read! Rachel Anderson is a P.I. who has her own demons and loss' but still manages to do what she can for those looking for answers. Her latest case though is far from simple, and her gut instinct is to turn it down and head in the opposite direction. That is until the CIA contacts her and changes her mind. Now she must go undercover in order to sort out the murder and potential scandle of a senator. Not a problem...that is until Elijah Trent enters into the picture. Elijah and Rachel have a past...it's as complicated as they each are. Will they be able to work together in order to stop a crime syndicate and their blackmarket videos' or will the past get in the way? Elijah is one of my favorite hero's that Ms. Bach has created. He is perfect for Rachel, and Ms. Bach has defly created the beginning of a new story featuring Rachel's thought dead brother. There are enough twists and turns in this story to keep the reader firmly engaged without insulting their intelligence. If you are a fan of romantic supsense than I highly suggest that you add Ms. Back to your "must read authors" list. She is an author that will be going great places if she contiunes at the rate that she has established! Official Reviewer for Romance Designs

Dynamite

I have kept up with Lauren Bach sience I found her first book, Lone Rider, I think it was. Each book after has been a little better, then a little more. The patern continues in Project Eve. The plot seems cooky at first, brainwashing, but the way its brought into the story, well, it has the right spin and falls into the believable catagory. The way it is put out there to the reader is something that could happen today. So, there the girls being brain washed (for things I am not going to tell you), who are in turn used for sadistic purposes and some of the profits are supporting terrorists, all possibly based out of a church. The father of one of the students at the churches college hires a private investigator, Rachel, to discover what happened to his daughter who dies in a suspicious accident. The ball starts to roll. The CIA get involved and everybody wants something for nothing. Old flame, CIA agent Elijah enters the pic and from then on its explosive. Rachel and Elijah have a past that does not leave happy memories. The tension between these two comes off the page. Many other factors are thrown in like Rachels brother and the game that Rachel has to play with Dwight. And who is Dwight, good or bad? The church, banks, overseas missions, the Pastor. Who did what? Who knows about what and how much of it is really connected. I have to say that it is better then I thought it would be. I knew it would be ok, but I was entertained cover to cover. I do recomend this book. It had a little of everything in it, so lots fo people can enjoy it. I liked it and will keep my eye out for the next new release.

Better than ever Bach

Bach's latest in her series of intense, romantic suspense line is action packed with sharp dialog, endless clues and interesting characters that make you want to know more. The hero and heroine, Elijah and Rachel, have a loving and painful past with each other. When they are thrown together during a covert government investigation, passion explodes. The characters are likeable and Bach leaves the reader wanting to know more about secondary characters like Rachel's PI boss, her missing brother and a rogue CIA agent. You also want to know more about Elijah's large family - and I wonder which of Elijah's sisters will fit with these characters.
