Tito Rico is a Cuban-American, who lives in "the projects" of New York City. He's made his life on the mean streets of the barrio, avoiding its dangers and temptations and staying alive. Events spiral... This description may be from another edition of this product.
It's rare that I find a book I can't put down, but I couldn't help myself with Project Death. It is such a compelling story that I found myself saying, "just a few more pages ..." As Bertematti's Tito Rico recounts his story of murder and police corruption, one can't help becoming engrossed in the novel. So eager was I to learn more of Tito's story that I didn't even pause at the end of a chapter before delving into the next. Snappy dialogue, vivid descriptions and Bertematti's crisp writing style keep "Project Death" moving at a pace so delightfully fast that there was barely time for me to stop and catch my breath. I can't wait to read more books from this author!
An excellent book- a must read

If you like Walter Moseley, you'll love this book. It's one of the best mystery/suspense novels I've read in a long time. The descriptions of the nether world of New York City are great and the action does not stop. I hope Bertematti continues producing more Tito Rico books.--CHRIS PUTTETTI
