Great textbook

Used to follow classes at the YMCA. I learned how to read and understand the language in two months. I woudln't buy it to study by myself, though. It need a teacher's guide and there's lots of 'group' exercises in it.

Italian Book

This a book of exercises that accompanies the regular Nuovo Progetto Italiano 1. It has exercises and pictures and makes it very easy for you to improve your basic Italian. The conversations are contemporary and do not sound too stilted. The language being taught is practical everyday language.
