Now THAT'S a good book!

Our book club read this book....great discussions. Now my 25-year-old daughter-in-law read it and couldn't put it down! I hope that Martha Ogburn writes more books...she's an excellent author!

lean prose that races with unusual energy

Martha Ogburn has pulled off a rare feat for a new novelist--lean prose that races with rare energy; a plot that twists and turns, shocks and surprises; personal relationships that push the limits of betrayal and forgiveness. As a medical professional, she knows the field. As a woman of faith, she understands redemption, grace, and the darkness that can envelop the human heart. She distrubs our complacency with the clarity of her vision. She prods us to face issues that we might rather dodge and that the Captains of Reproductive Commerce would rather keep from the public eye. PROGENY is as current as today's biotechnical headlines, yet its wisdom is eternal. It will make you cry, keep you awake, make you question, perhaps even make you pray. Don't start it unless you're prepared to finish in one sitting!

What a thought provoking thriller!

Ogburn brings the concerns about cloning, designer babies, and fetal tissue research to the reality of today. The characters struggle with the ethical situations that will soon be upon us. I agree that Oprah should definitely look into this book!

Who can you trust???

Progeny brings the fast-paced world of high-tech fertility projects right to our doorstep. As Matthew Hamilton enters into a dangerous pact with Dr. Chan, he betrays his wife, and turns his back on the ethics of medicine. Rachel, his wife, endures numerous miscarriages and painfully realizes she might never bear children. She will learn, after seeing her mirror-image in an airport, that the only things that she can trust are her own instincts and her close relationship with God. If you haven't had concerns about cloning, fetal tissue research, and genetic experimentation, you will now!

This is a book club pick! What discussion will flow!

From the first chapter I was entwined in this book and was quickly drawn into the characters. If I'd read this a few years ago I may have scoffed. Now I find myself shuddering at the possibility of it all! If I were Oprah, I'd be telling my audience about this one!
