This book titled "Profanity" is written to raise an awareness of the adverse effects of profanity used in our society. Profanity is the reservoir of disrespectful words that are ill-spoken for various reasons. These profane words are spoken in reference to people, places, and about ideologies. Whether intentional or not, it happens, and the effect is the same; feelings are hurt, relationships are destroyed, and ultimately, wars are started. Profanity is offensive. It can even block fruitful opportunities for advancement in our communities, in workplaces, and in all aspects of life. There is nothing positive to be said about profanity. Now, we understand what it is and where it comes from. Whether it's from the home or in the community, from the movies we watch, or in the music we listen to, it is an issue that must be addressed with the youth of today. Using this book as a point of reference, we not only understand what profanity is and what it looks like, but we can see the negative impact it has on our lives. The question is simply this: What can I do to counteract the destructive force of profanity and the pain caused by the use of such vulgarity.
