great text

I had the author as a professor so I may be biased but the text seemed to be very straightforward. It is hard to make this topic exciting, but this book seemed to cover material well without "beating a dead horse".

Book Review

Overall, it's a pretty good book. The gripes I have are few: 1) Most of the pictures are somewhat blurry, making intricate details and comments hard to see. 2) The editing could have been better, as there are several grammatical errors throughout the book. Some of the mathematical formulas are wrong as well. 3) The author tends to be somewhat repetitious. You read about something in one chapter, and then the same thing is presented in another chapter almost verbatim. 4) I wish the book was available in a hard cover version. For the price it sells for, it should be!
