For the professional and student here is a basic guide to raising money, obtaining rights and bringing a play to the stage. Appendices include actual examples of commonly used legal forms and contracts. "...likely to remain for some time to come the authoritative reference in its field." -Variety
I found this book after getting the first edition from the local library and lamenting how woefully out of date it was. This third edition is more up to date and filled with all the little details one needs to produce on Broadway. It is rather dry reading, as contract language tends to be, but don't let that stop you from getting it. If you dream of producing live theatre, it's a must have!
Must have book for contract forms

This book is what "This Business Of Music" is to the music industry. Invaluable insights into producing a "real" Broadway musical. Everything from securing rights to details on the internal workings of financing. Only wish there were a version on CD ROM so the forms could be used as templates for our purposes. Well worth the $$. Highly recommend!
Extremely helpful book

This book is very detailed and has answered every question i've had so far. The only thing is that i'm not sure how updated the information is, since it is an older book.
