Mike and Elizabeth Barrett are living a comfortable life in Munich. Mike is with U.S. Army counterintelligence, serving as a linguist screening newly arrived immigrants from East Germany. Elizabeth takes care of their two children and serves as the president of the Munich-American Elementary School. Then it all falls apart.
