A full-length, two act drama that explores the complexity of the Reproductive Rights issue as it impacts an American family. When Drew, a twentysomething teacher on the cusp of professional advancement, discovers she is pregnant, she struggles not only with her own decision on whether or not to bear the child, but also with her family's viewpoints and history - which includes her older sister's death from an attempted self-induced abortion. The play's style is fluid, moving among present-day events and flashbacks; realism and non-realism; prose, poetry, and song. Originally produced in Chicago, Illinois, the play has been continually updated for subsequent productions.
