awsome

The best children's book I have ever read. She is my favorite author. The story is about a really smart pig who was raised in the house. She could turn the t.v. on with her nose. She could answer the phone. When she got big they had to put her out. The other hogs didn't like her, but she finally made friends. The story is funny and it's sad. I just loved it.

A charming book about a pet pig

A pig's eye view of life on the farm. Priscilla was raised as a pet, living in the house, house-trained to wipe her hooves before entering the house after playing outdoors. Unfortunately, she did not know she was a pig, and after she grew too large for living in the house it was necessary to move her to the barn where she would live with other pigs. This is a charming story by the woman who actually raised Priscilla. It is written from the pig's viewpoint and is therefore a fiction, but the pig about whom it was written was real, and is reportedly as described, including her ability to turn on the television with her nose.A fine story for children.Joseph H. A Childhood Favorite...

To all the parents out there shopping for their children, this book should be on your list! I am 26 years old, and have a first edition that came out in 1981. To this day it is still on my list of favorites! It is one of the most heartfelt stories I read as a child, and what makes it even more dear is that it is based on a true story from my home state. Even if you are not from Oregon, if you like stories that touch your heart, this is one for you (oh....and your kids! Hehehe!) And Mrs. Copeland, if you read these, now that I have moved to Boston, I miss seeing you at the Oregon State Fair each year! Hope you are doing well.

Priscilla

This book is true, the pig named Priscilla really could turn on the television and was house broken by a dog. I know this because I recieved the privilege of meeting the author Colene Copeland. The pig was allowed to sleep in the house and was even allowed on family vacations. When Priscilla out grew the house the author and "Papa," had to sleep with her on the first three days. they even brought another sow in to teach her to act like a pig. This book is funny and entertaining.
