Young Princess Claire Elizabeth discovers a hidden castle in the woods near her home and longs to go back and learn more about it. Her father forbids her going back to the dangerous woods, but then a dream tells her she has to return because of an important secret within the castle. She does return and finds a lost baby unicorn in the castle basement, cared for by a kind old couple. The unicorn was separated from its family during a hurricane and until they know where their baby is, the sadness of the unicorn family brings sadness to the entire woods. Claire Elizabeth is determined to search the woods for the hiding unicorn family and tell them their baby is safe. Her parents realize that the events and Claire Elizabeth's mission fulfill an ancient prophecy written by dragons long ago. Claire Elizabeth along with her cousin, Prince John Matthew, and her dog, Buddy, take on the quest in the woods with their parents' permission.The two kids meet monks, witches, wizards, knights, fairies, mermaids, and magical ponies. Their trip is full of danger and surprises and Claire Elizabeth learns to use her intelligence, her natural gifts and faith.
