Prince Robert's Reign: The People's Prince
Prince Robert Castione is no longer the reckless boy who once fought against becoming heir to the throne.
At thirty, Robert is a husband, a father, and the acting ruler of much of Mendagan. His children adore him, the common people trust him, and many of his reforms have begun to reshape the kingdom. Servants are being educated. Commoners are being trained. Families who once had no voice at court now know that the crown prince will listen.
But Robert is still Robert.
He still argues with his father. He still resists being managed. He still rides too hard, pushes himself too far, and hides the pain and humiliation caused by his seizures. When a seizure strikes before the Grand Council, Robert's confidence falters, and his enemies seize the opportunity to question whether he is fit to rule.
At home, his children are growing old enough to see the man behind the title. Marcus worries. James imitates. Gabriella challenges. Pip quietly understands more than anyone expects. As Robert tries to guide them, he must also confront the example he sets for them.
Beyond the borders of Mendagan, Earl Atherton has not forgotten the prince who exposed his corruption and destroyed his power. When Robert's family travels near dangerous territory, old hatred becomes a deadly threat.
The People's Prince is a young adult medieval-style family and court drama about leadership, fatherhood, public failure, courage, and the prince whose greatest strength has always been his love for the people.
