A fine young adult book

This excellent book can be compared with Stevenson's "Kidnapped." It tells very real the story of a boy who took part in the Jacobite rising of 1745, neatly connecting the protagonist's memories with the battle of Kings Mountain in the American revolution. Mr. Forman not only creates an authentic voice for his hero, he also gives the reader a moving and historically accurate picture of the tragic events when Bonnie Prince Charlie sought to retake the English throne.
